The Book of Enoch 16
How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.
Charles translation (1917)
1From the days of the slaughter and destruction and death ⌈of the giants⌉, from the souls of whose flesh the spirits, having gone forth, shall destroy without incurring judgement--thus shall they destroy until the day of the consummation, the great ⌈judgement⌉ in which the age shall be consummated, over the Watchers and the godless, yea, shall be wholly consummated."
From the days of the slaughter and destruction and death of the giants — the swollen offspring-states begotten when vigilance coupled with sense — the spirits gone forth from the life of their flesh, their sense-bound life, shall go on destroying without incurring judgment, until the day of the consummation, the great judgment in which this age of states shall be brought to its end over the Watchers and the godless, yea, wholly brought to its end.
2And now as to the Watchers who have sent thee to intercede for them, who had been ⌈⌈aforetime⌉⌉ in heaven, (say
And now as to the Watchers — the vigilant, guarding faculties — who have sent you to intercede for them, who had aforetime been in heaven, in the inner realm, say
3to them): "You have been in heaven, but ⌈all⌉ the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries women and men work much evil on earth."
to them: “You have been in the inner realm, but all the hidden orders had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew only worthless ones; and these, in the hardness of your hearts, you have made known to the women — the affectional nature — and through these hidden orders women and men work much evil upon the outer life.”
4Say to them therefore: "You have no peace."'
Say to them therefore: “You have no peace” — no rest within the divine order.
