The Book of Enoch 31
How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.
Charles translation (1917)
1And I saw other mountains, and amongst them were ⌈groves of⌉ trees, and there flowed forth from them nectar, which is named sarara and galbanum.
And I saw other exalted states, and amongst them were groves of trees, companies of established beliefs, and there flowed forth from them nectar, the sweet outflow of truth, which is named sarara and galbanum.
2And beyond these mountains I saw another mountain ⌈to the east of the ends of the earth⌉, ⌈⌈whereon were aloe trees⌉⌉, and all the trees were full of stacte, being like almond-trees.
And beyond these exalted states I saw another exalted state, to the east of the ends of the outer life, whereon were aloe trees, and all the trees were full of stacte, being like almond-trees.
3And when one burnt it, it smelt sweeter than any fragrant odour.
And when one burnt it — yielded it wholly, as a whole state is yielded in offering — it smelt sweeter than any fragrant odour, its sweet influence rising above every other.
