The Book of Enoch 47

How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.

Charles translation (1917)

1And in those days shall have ascended the prayer of the righteous, And the blood of the righteous from the earth before the Lord of Spirits.

And in those days shall have ascended the prayer of the right-ordered states, and the blood — the life-stream, the life wholly given — of the right-ordered states from the outer life before the indwelling LORD of Spirits.

2In those days the holy ones who dwell above in the heavens Shall unite with one voice And supplicate and pray [and praise, And give thanks and bless the name of the Lord of Spirits] On behalf of the blood of the righteous which has been shed, And that the prayer of the righteous may not be in vain before the Lord of Spirits, That judgement may be done unto them, And that they may not have to suffer for ever.

In those days the holy ones — states wholly of the divine order — who dwell above in the inner realm shall unite with one voice and supplicate and pray and praise, and give thanks and bless the name of the indwelling LORD of Spirits on behalf of the blood of the right-ordered states which has been shed, and that the prayer of the right-ordered may not be in vain before the indwelling LORD of Spirits, that judgment — the divine order confronting a state all at once — may be done unto them, and that they may not have to suffer for ever.

3In those days I saw the Head of Days when He seated himself upon the throne of His glory, And the books of the living were opened before Him: And all His host which is in heaven above and His counselors stood before Him, 4

In those days I saw the Head of Days — the Ancient of Days, the eternal Source — when He seated Himself upon the throne, the seat of ruling authority, of His glory, the manifested weight of the Presence; and the books of the living — the recorded order of states — were opened before Him, and all His host which is in the inner realm above and His counsellors stood before Him,

4And the hearts of the holy were filled with joy; Because the number of the righteous had been offered, And the prayer of the righteous had been heard, And the blood of the righteous been required before the Lord of Spirits.

And the hearts of the holy ones were filled with joy, because the number of the right-ordered had been offered, and the prayer of the right-ordered had been heard, and the blood of the right-ordered been required before the indwelling LORD of Spirits.
