The Book of Enoch 70

How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.

Charles translation (1917)

1And it came to pass after this that his name during his lifetime was raised aloft to that Son of Man and to the Lord of Spirits from amongst those who dwell on the earth.

And it came to pass after this that his name during his lifetime was raised aloft to that Son of Man — the offspring of the Divine Mind expressed through the human state — and to the indwelling LORD of Spirits, from amongst those who dwell on the outer life. Here Enoch, the faculty that walks with God, is named.

2And he was raised aloft on the chariots of the spirit and his name vanished among them.

And he was raised aloft on the chariots of the spirit — the ordered courses of the Spirit — and his name vanished among them.

3And from that day I was no longer numbered amongst them: and he set me between the two winds, between the North and the West, where the angels took the cords to measure for me the place for the elect and righteous.

And from that day I was no longer numbered amongst them: and he set me between the two winds — the two moving influences of the Spirit — between the North and the West, where the angels, the divine ideas, took the cords to measure for me the place for the elect and righteous, the chosen and right-ordered states.

4And there I saw the first fathers and the righteous who from the beginning dwell in that place.

And there I saw the first fathers and the righteous who from the beginning — from the first principle — dwell in that place: the originating states and the states in right relation to the divine order.
