The Book of Enoch 2

How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.

Charles translation (1917)

1Observe ye everything that takes place in the heaven, how they do not change their orbits, ⌈and⌉ the luminaries which are in the heaven, how they all rise and set in order each in its season, and transgress not against their appointed order.

Observe everything that takes place in the heaven — the inner realm — how they do not change their courses, and the luminaries — the ordered lights, faculties moving in their appointed courses and measures — which are in the inner realm, how they all rise and set in order, each in its season, and transgress not against their appointed order.

2Behold ye the earth, and give heed to the things which take place upon it from first to last, ⌈how steadfast they are⌉, how ⌈none of the things upon earth⌉ change, ⌈but⌉ all the works of God appear ⌈to you⌉.

Behold the earth — the outer realm — and give heed to the things which take place upon it from first to last, how steadfast they are, how none of the things upon the outer life change, but all the works of the Source appear to you.

3Behold the summer and the winter, ⌈⌈how the whole earth is filled with water, and clouds and dew and rain lie upon it⌉⌉.

Behold the summer and the winter — the warm and the cold seasons of the state — how the whole outer life is filled with water, the fluid of unformed thought, and clouds and dew and rain, the descending influences of the higher realm, lie upon it.
