The Book of Enoch 34

How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.

Charles translation (1917)

1And from thence I went towards the north to the ends of the earth, and there I saw a great and glorious device at the ends of the whole earth.

And from there I went towards the north to the ends of the outer life, and there I saw a great and glorious device — a great and glorious ordered work — at the ends of the whole outer life.

2And here I saw three portals of heaven open in the heaven: through each of them proceed north winds: when they blow there is cold, hail, frost, snow, dew, and rain.

And here I saw three portals of heaven open in the inner realm: through each of them proceed north winds — moving influences of the Spirit: when they blow there is cold, hail, frost, snow, dew, and rain, the stripping and watering influences in their appointed measures.

3And out of one portal they blow for good: but when they blow through the other two portals, it is with violence and affliction on the earth, and they blow with violence.

And out of one portal they blow for good: but when they blow through the other two portals, it is with violence and affliction on the outer life, and they blow with violence — an influence sent to strip bare what resists the order.
