The Book of Enoch 54
How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.
Charles translation (1917)
1And I looked and turned to another part of the earth, and saw there a deep valley with burning fire.
And I looked and turned to another part of the outer life, and saw there a deep low state with burning fire — truth's consuming judgment upon the error held there.
2And they brought the kings and the mighty, and began to cast them into this deep valley.
And they brought the ruling states and the mighty states, and began to cast them into this deep low state.
3And there mine eyes saw how they made these their instruments, iron chains of immeasurable weight.
And there my eyes saw how they made for them their instruments — iron chains of immeasurable weight, bonds that hold a state fast in its reckoning.
4And I asked the angel of peace who went with me, saying: 'For whom are these chains being prepared?'
And I asked the angel of peace who went with me, saying: 'For whom are these chains being prepared?'
5And he said unto me: 'These are being prepared for the hosts of Azâzêl, so that they may take them and cast them into the abyss of complete condemnation, and they shall cover their jaws with rough stones as the Lord of Spirits commanded.
And he said unto me: 'These are being prepared for the hosts of Azâzêl — the concentrated adversarial state to whom all error is ascribed — so that they may take them and cast them into the abyss of complete condemnation, and they shall cover their devouring jaws with rough stones, as the indwelling LORD of Spirits commanded.'
6And Michael, and Gabriel, and Raphael, and Phanuel shall take hold of them on that great day, and cast them on that day into the burning furnace, that the Lord of Spirits may take vengeance on them for their unrighteousness in becoming subject to Satan and leading astray those who dwell on the earth.' LIV. 7.-LV 2. Noachic Fragment on the first World Judgement.
And Michael — the champion faculty — and Gabriel — the strength-faculty — and Raphael — the healing faculty — and Phanuel — the faculty of the Face, set over repentance and hope — shall take hold of them on that great day, and cast them on that day into the burning furnace, that the indwelling LORD of Spirits may bring the reckoning upon them for their disorder, in becoming subject to Satan, the adversarial sense-mind, and leading astray those who dwell in the outer life.' (Here begins the Noachic fragment on the first world judgment.)
7'And in those days shall punishment come from the Lord of Spirits, and he will open all the chambers of waters which are above the heavens, and of the fountains which are beneath the earth.
And in those days shall punishment come from the indwelling LORD of Spirits, and He will open all the store-chambers of the waters which are above the inner realm — the spiritual truths held in the higher mind — and of the fountains which are beneath the outer life, in the subconscious deep.
8And all the waters shall be joined with the waters: that which is above the heavens is the masculine, and the water which is beneath the earth is the feminine.
And all the waters shall be joined with the waters: that which is above the inner realm is the masculine — the wisdom principle, the knowing faculty — and the water which is beneath the outer life is the feminine — the love principle, the feeling faculty.
9And they shall destroy all who dwell on the earth and those who dwell under the ends of the heaven.
And they shall dissolve all who dwell in the outer life, and those who dwell under the ends of the inner realm.
10And when they have recognized their unrighteousness which they have wrought on the earth, then by these shall they perish.
And when they have recognised their disorder which they have wrought in the outer life, then by these shall they perish.
