The Book of Enoch 97
How to read these pages: the text itself comes first, verse by verse, in the volume's own translation. Beneath each verse stands its Meaning — a rendering of what the passage's terms name in the inner life, drawn from the correspondences the text itself uses. The text is never altered; the meaning is offered, not imposed.
Charles translation (1917)
1Believe, ye righteous, that the sinners will become a shame And perish in the day of unrighteousness.
Trust, you right-ordered states, that the error-bound states will become a shame — their disorder laid bare — and perish in the day of disorder, when the divine order confronts them all at once.
2Be it known unto you (ye sinners) that the Most High is mindful of your destruction, And the angels of heaven rejoice over your destruction.
Be it known to you, you error-bound states, that the Most High — the Source under His highest title — is mindful of your destruction, and the angels of heaven, the divine ideas of the inner realm, rejoice over the ending of your disorder.
3What will ye do, ye sinners, And whither will ye flee on that day of judgement, When ye hear the voice of the prayer of the righteous?
What will you do, you error-bound states, and where will you flee on that day of judgement, when you hear the voice of the prayer of the right-ordered — their lifted communion reaching the Source?
4Yea, ye shall fare like unto them, Against whom this word shall be a testimony: "Ye have been companions of sinners."
You shall fare like unto them, against whom this word shall stand as a testimony in the record: "You have been companions of sinners" — joined with error-bound states as your chosen company.
5And in those days the prayer of the righteous shall reach unto the Lord, And for you the days of your judgement shall come.
And in those days the prayer of the right-ordered shall reach unto the indwelling LORD, and for you the days of your judgement shall come — the divine order confronting your state until it is fully measured.
6And all the words of your unrighteousness shall be read out before the Great Holy One, And your faces shall be covered with shame, And He will reject every work which is grounded on unrighteousness.
And all the words of your disorder shall be read out from the record before the Great Holy One — the Source under His title of greatness — and your faces, your very presence, shall be covered with shame; and He will reject every work which is grounded on disorder.
7Woe to you, ye sinners, who live on the mid ocean and on the dry land, Whose remembrance is evil against you.
Woe to you, you error-bound states, who live on the mid ocean — the surface of the great subconscious reservoir — and on the dry land, the formed, stable consciousness, whose remembrance, your standing memory-record, is evil against you.
8Woe to you who acquire silver and gold in unrighteousness and say: "We have become rich with riches and have possessions; And have acquired everything we have desired.
Woe to you who acquire silver and gold — valued outer substance — in disorder and say: "We have become rich with riches and have possessions, and have acquired everything we have desired" — the sense-mind boasting in what it has heaped up apart from the order.
9And now let us do what we purposed: For we have gathered silver, 9d And many are the husbandmen in our houses." 9e And our granaries are (brim) full as with water, 10
And now let us do what we purposed: for we have gathered silver, and many are the husbandmen — the tending faculties pressed into our service — in our houses, our dwelling-states. And our granaries, our storehouses of substance, are brim-full as with water, filled with unformed plenty.
10Yea and like water your lies shall flow away; For your riches shall not abide But speedily ascend from you; For ye have acquired it all in unrighteousness, And ye shall be given over to a great curse.
Yes, and like water — unformed and unheld — your lies shall flow away; for your riches shall not abide, but speedily ascend from you and leave you; for you have acquired it all in disorder, and you shall be given over to a great curse — the lasting, binding consequence of the state you chose.
